Evolution

  • Community Clerkship, at UMASS, Worcester,  with African immigrants on preconception care
  • Trips to Ghana by UMASS, Worcester GSN faculty to explore more about the Ghana health system
  • Working with African Immigrants at Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center (EMKCHC)
  • Interest to set up a non profit health clinic in Ghana driven by
    • Passion to work with underserved populations
    • Experience with a large number of African immigrants as a primary care provide
  • Most of the patients never had any access to healthcare in their countries of origin
  • Lots of diseases in these patients are found at very advanced stages with poor prognosis
  • Striking key health indicators of Ghana.
